Look Up! Tonight Venus is sailing above the Moon. It is the NEW YEAR’S EVE of 2017! The world is buzzing at a palpable frequency, sending shocks across the skin of our fore arms and smiles to strangers amongst us. We stride into the new year with verve and vigor. Venus is in the night sky to join in the merriment and remind us to believe in the beauty of the universe.
The second planet in our solar system, closest in size and structure to our home planet, and shines brightest in our sky due to the dense atmosphere. If you were standing on the surface, it would look much like our terrestrial planet, except all would be orange in hue. Orange is associated with change and change or transformation is the urge at the beginning of the new year.
As a Goddess, Venus is revered for love, beauty, femininity, inspiration, abundance, and pleasure. Love is romantic, love is fresh, love is warm, love is simple, love is companionship, love is fleeting, love is tenacious. Beauty and inspiration and pleasure are similar to love in that they too are a momentarily energizing sensation. The goddess inspires, it is up to us to see the dream through. Tonight, we will burn brightly like our planetary companion and the mythological goddess with inspiration and love. I encourage us to carry the fire into 2017 and believe in our dreams.
